Higher Consciousness:
What is everyone
talking about?
"The separate parts of humanity
and Earth are coming together to form a whole that is greater than and
unpredictable from the sum of its parts. Synergy feels like love,
loving one another as ourselves. We are, in fact, one body! Our
capacities as a whole are infinitely greater than when we are separate
tribes and nations. Once our consciousness shifts from feeling
separated to knowing that we are all members of one body, our vast
technological genius begins to serve the growth of ourselves as one
planet. And that consciousness shift can happen in the twinkling of an
eye! In fact it is now happening in millions of us throughout the world."

Why am I, Jeff Smith, soooo interested in
consciousness? Great question! Of course, I would love to answer that
for you. :-)
I read an ebook called "Personal Power" by W. W. Atkinson
and Edward E. Beals
This book discusses this topic at length, and concludes that it is the
most fundamental aspect of being alive. When you think,
who/or what is thinking? Who owns those thoughts?...
Same goes for your emotions...are you owned by your emotions?...or are
emotions something you have?
These types of questions, are not rhetorical, but answered:
You ARE awarness...all
other aspects are merely possessions of that focal-point of "I
am"-ness. You have:
- A Body
- A Mind (with thoughts)
- Emotions
- Will
- Desire
This idea really intrigued me. Mostly because I had never really
thought to identify myself as anything but a human being in a
body...but this idea suggested that "I" am nothing BUT
this sense of awareness. I have a body, mind, thoughts and feelings,
but all those "things" are "possessed" and therefore SUBORDINATE to
"ME!!!"
This sort of made me feel silly, when I was "angry"...because I KNEW
that "I" couldn't possibly let one of my possessions control "ME"...I
am in charge of them!
This was a real amazing and empowering revelation that served to fuel
my drive and investigation into the "truth" of being, the universe, and
existence. My simple conclusion (at least
for today) is that IT is all there "really" is.
I hear about higher consciousness quite often these
days...and I think that is a good thing...but, there are many different
interpretations that I can see that are being applied to this term.
Are we living in the matrix? Maybe not, but we
might be living in a Holographic Universe...
"Spirit is in a state of grace forever.Your
reality is only spirit. Therefore you are in a state of grace forever."
-- A Course in Miracles
What do high gas prices have to do with global
consciousness? I know that sounds crazy! High gas prices are a good
thing??!? What I am nuts!??! Trust me, I AM CRAZY, but only in a good
way, and yes I think HIGH gas prices are a GREAT thing...here's
why.
Have you ever felt
you died and went to heaven? Or how about Hell? What
if every time you thought you died, you did die and just
didn't
realize it? I am really fascinated by the idea of
consciousness after death.
Is there such a thing as a subconscious mind? What
the hell is it? Do I
want to know about it? Where did I put my keys? Oh wait...
I am pretty sure that I am here on earth right
when I wanted to be.I am 39 years old and I am alive and healthy enough
to witness the current shift in collective consciousness from fear
toward love. Fear will not be gone, it will just take a back seat as
love moves forward.
This morning I decided to try out the stream of
consciousness technique for writing down the ideas that were floating
around in my head when I woke up.
This is a summary of thoughts on goals, giving and
keeping related to the recent sale of my RV...I really learned a lot
from this ownership experience.
I just watched an episode of the new Dr Who, and I
noticed a connection with what Eckhart Tolle said in his video. The
episode suggests that the story of you is NOT you...but your real self
is something far more wonderful!
I woke up at about 2:53 this morning and started
to do a "heart" meditation that I found in a book "The Seeker's Guide"
(before that I had a fun dream..but that is another journal entry).
The heart mediation felt fun and a little scary,
but then I started thinking about life, the universe, and
everything...the actual and the book by Douglas Adams.
