Inducing Consciousness: Shift Cast #24, Interview with Mike Schumacher
Our guest this week is Mike Schumacher a friend of mine from yet another one of Steve Pavlina's Conscious Growth workshops. Mike and I talk about integral theory and it's view on major levels of consciousness that have occurred throughout human history. We talk about the different levels and how each level of consciousness affected human behavior and how today we still have several different levels co-existing on the planet. Integral theory seeks to find the positive aspects of all levels while accepting all levels. It also seeks to build structures that will allow us to peacefully interact with people who hold to different levels of consciousness. These structures also seek to facilitate forward progress through the levels within an individual's lifetime. We also briefly discuss one of the expressions of post-modern consciousness, that of minimalism. Minimalism is the idea of reducing one's physical holdings to a more sustainable level versus the modern idea of massive acquistion of psyhical possessions.
